Musicians Hall of Fame Nomination
The Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum honors great musicians known to the public without regard to whether they are superstars or studio musicians performing behind the recording artist. The first annual award show was held in the fall of 2007 and we look forward to the next show in the fall of 2008.
Eligibility criteria for induction into the Musicians Hall of Fame
(MHOF) includes individual musicians with a recorded work of art; studio musicians who have played together and are known as a group; and groups or bands of musicians who backed a front man or singer. Examples would be The Funk Brothers in Detroit or The Wrecking Crew in L.A., both inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame in 2007 as a group of studio musicians. The Blue Moon Boys who performed with Elvis and The Tennessee Two, which was the band for Johnny Cash, were inducted as a band or group of musicians who backed a front man or singer.
Each member of the AFM may nominate up to five (5) individual musicians, three (3) groups of studio players, three (3) bands performing with a front man, three (3) producers, three (3) engineers, and three (3) arrangers. A musician may be inducted more than once if they are outstanding performers, performed regularly with studio musicians, and performed in a traveling band behind an artist. The MHOF also invites you to nominate producers, engineers, and arrangers. Each AFM member may nominate up to three (3) different people for each of these categories.
Please include the names of musicians/groups/bands and a brief description of why they should be recognized.
All nominations must be submitted by May 15, 2008. Those received after that deadline will be held for consideration in 2009.
You may submit your nominations one of 3 ways.
